High-value biological compounds in jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) and their relationship with carcinogenesis

Jackfruit contains high-value biological compounds (HVBC) with important activity in the inhibition of carcinogenesis, through various mechanisms. This study aimed to identify HVBC a methanolic fraction an extract jackfruit; which was reported antimutagenic and antiproliferative against PC3 cells (prostate cancer). The profile includes 3 organic acids, 5 phenolic 12 flavonoids, 2 carotenoids. identification permitted establishment postulates about possible mechanisms greater different phases carcinogenesis process, such as apigenin, artocarpin, cuadraflavone C, moracin β-carotene.
